The Yukon Land Use Planning Council comprises three members. Appointments are made by the Yukon Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources based on nominations received from each of the parties to the Umbrella Final Agreement. Appointments are for three year terms.

Background:
Neil came to the Yukon in 1989 from rural Ontario. He has mostly resided in rural communities, including Burwash Landing and Haines Junction, where he worked for Kluane Park and also co-founded the Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay. He owned and operated Moose Creek Lodge before settling in Mayo, where he was recognized by YG for his work implementing YESAA when he worked for EMR. He moved to Whitehorse in 2010 to work at the Yukon Water Board, and retired as the Manager of Licensing in 2020. Neil's four children are all Yukoners, which gives him "a vested interest in the sustainable development, utilization and conservation of Yukons unique lands, waters and natural resources".
Lois Craig

Background:
I have enjoyed life in the Yukon for thirty three years. My working career spans forty years including the public government sector and in recent years consulting.
Yukon work has primarily focused on sustainable development/ natural resource management, land claims preparedness and implementation, devolution of resource management programs from Canada to Yukon, multi-party negotiations and agreements, as well as partnerships and shared initiatives to facilitate responsible development. Work with First Nations and public governments, resource industry, and in multi-party arrangements have all been enriching and fulfilling.
I worked with Yukon Government from 2000 to 2006 in Economic Development and Energy Mines and Resources on senior management teams. Recent work has included collaboration in the design and implementation of a comprehensive multi-party socio-economic monitoring program working with Selkirk First nation, Yukon government and Minto Explorations Ltd.
Work with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada during the eighties and nineties included renewable resource management; environmental assessment of Yukon major projects; economic development through multi- party agreements; and work with negotiators to conclude Umbrella Final Agreement negotiations and prepare for devolution and land claims implementation.

Tess McLeod

December 11, 2020 to October 14, 2023. CYFN Nominee
Background:
Tess is a citizen of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun comes to the Council with experience in environmental planning and policy in the Yukon. She holds a BSc degree in Ecology from the University of Queensland, Australia and is currently enrolled in a joint Masters of Governance and Entrepreneurship in Northern and Indigenous Areas at the University of Saskatchewan.
Her experience in fish and wildlife, and special management area planning will be an asset to the Council and we are excited to have her on board.
